This notice explains what personal information Solchem collects through this website, why we collect it, how long we keep it and the choices available to you.

Who we are

Solchem Ottman Nigeria Limited is an indigenous Nigerian engineering company incorporated in 1991, operating from Warri, Delta State, Nigeria. Solchem facilitates engineering and HSE training programmes and prepares candidates for certification pathways delivered by independent certifying bodies.

Information we collect

We collect only the information required to assess an application or respond to an enquiry.

  • Identity and contact details: full name, email address, telephone number, state or current location and country of residence.
  • Application information: qualifications, engineering discipline, work experience, certifications held and programme- specific answers.
  • Uploaded documents: identification, qualification evidence, certificates and any additional supporting documents a programme requires.
  • Partnership enquiry details: organisation, job title, enquiry type, training area, estimated participants, preferred timeline and message.
  • Technical information: pages viewed, referral source, device type and interaction with calls to action.

How we use your information

Your information is used for defined operational purposes only.

  • Assessing eligibility and reviewing your application against the published programme criteria.
  • Communicating decisions, requests for further information and programme logistics.
  • Presenting candidate details to a certifying or examination body where a programme requires it.
  • Responding to corporate, sponsorship and certification partnership enquiries.
  • Understanding programme demand so that future cohorts are planned appropriately.

Lawful basis

We process application information to take steps at your request before entering into a training arrangement, and we process enquiry information on the basis of our legitimate interest in responding to organisations that contact us. Where we send programme update emails, we rely on your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.

Sharing your information

Solchem does not sell personal information. Information is shared only where it is necessary to deliver a programme.

  • Certifying and examination bodies, where a programme leads to an external certification pathway.
  • Approved facilitators and instructors delivering a specific cohort.
  • Sponsoring organisations, limited to candidates they have nominated or funded.
  • Service providers supporting email delivery, hosting and document storage, under confidentiality obligations.

Document uploads and storage

Uploaded documents are stored securely and accessed only by authorised Solchem reviewers. Files that do not meet the accepted format or size requirements are rejected at upload and are not retained.

Retention

Application records are retained for the duration of the review process and for a reasonable period afterwards so that candidates can be considered for future cohorts and so that programme records remain auditable. Partnership enquiry records are retained while a commercial discussion remains active. Records that are no longer required are deleted or anonymised.

Your rights

Subject to applicable Nigerian data protection law, you may:

  • Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Withdraw consent to programme update emails at any time.
  • Object to a particular use of your information.

Security

Access to candidate and enquiry records is restricted by role. Administrative accounts are individually assigned, activity is logged, and sensitive actions require confirmation. No online service can guarantee absolute security, but Solchem applies proportionate controls to protect the information you submit.

Important limitation

Submitting an application does not guarantee selection for a programme, and Solchem does not award certification. Certification is awarded by the relevant independent certifying or examination body.
