Solchem is an indigenous Nigerian engineering company with decades of pipeline, fabrication, inspection and HSE delivery. We now facilitate structured engineering and HSE training programmes that prepare professionals for recognised certification pathways.
Professional retraining, skill acquisition and HSE training have long formed part of Solchem’s human-capital development work. Our training programmes formalise that activity into structured cohorts with defined eligibility, assessment and outcomes.
Procedure-driven engineering, applied to the classroom and the workshop.
Each discipline below is an operating capability of Solchem, and each one informs the technical content of our training programmes.
Support to process plant operations — process pipework, static equipment, heat exchangers, distillation and separation systems in refining, petrochemical and chemical service.
Assessment of corrosion and materials behaviour — chemical attack, sour service, high-temperature and environmental damage mechanisms affecting fixed equipment.
Control of chemical, physical and environmental agents on site — hazardous substance handling, exposure control, spill response and permit-to-work discipline.
Fabrication and welding of pipeline systems, spools and associated steelwork to written procedure.
Construction, repair and rehabilitation of storage tanks and associated structures.
Engineering, procurement and construction delivery across industrial scopes.
We are a training facilitator. We design and deliver preparation, and we administer candidate selection with the same discipline we apply on engineering projects. Certification itself is awarded independently.
Solchem facilitates training and preparation. Certification is awarded by the relevant
independent certifying or examination body. Completing a programme does not
guarantee certification.
Every programme publishes its scope, dates, eligibility requirements and certification pathway before applications open.

Advanced HSE training for graduates progressing into supervisory safety responsibility, covering safety management systems, auditing and incident investigation.
Training content is grounded in work Solchem has
actually delivered — pipeline welding, fabrication,
inspection, commissioning and civil construction.
Programmes are facilitated by serving engineering
and HSE personnel rather than by generalist trainers.
Applications, eligibility review, decisions and communication run through one controlled workflow.
Content is organised around the requirements of the
relevant certifying or examination body.
Eligibility is reviewed by a person, and readiness is
assessed before candidates are presented for
examination.
The safety and quality discipline applied on Solchem projects is applied in the training environment.
Every programme publishes its scope, dates, eligibility requirements and certification pathway before applications open.
Feedback submitted by professionals who completed our API 1169 pipeline inspection preparatory cohorts. Each entry links to the trainee’s recorded video testimonial.
I liked the fact that the trainers were so sound and explicit about the course delivery. I really did learn a lot, which is helping me to prepare well for the forthcoming API 1169 examination. The training is for serious minds, just as our facilitator is serious and timely in delivering the training.
The curriculum thoroughly covered the API 1169 Body of Knowledge. The structured breakdown of topics made the material easy to retain. The facilitators at Solchem demonstrated exceptional command of the subject, explaining intricate codes and standards in an engaging manner that greatly boosted confidence heading into the examination.
I was able to gain a more in-depth knowledge of pipeline inspection. The facilitators at Solchem are well-groomed in the field, and I learnt a lot from them. In my opinion, they are one of the best facilitators we have in the country.
Experienced instructors and a structured approach throughout the programme.
A highly valuable and well-structured programme. The instructor was knowledgeable, engaging, and took time to explain concepts clearly. I commend the facilitators for their professionalism, patience, and commitment to ensuring every participant understood the course content.
Indeed a well-structured programme. The instructors were engaging, and I learnt so much from them. I also appreciated the high level of interaction amongst us, the students, and the group learning structure that the trainers built in us.
